EVS 2013 call for volunteer

Legambiente Veneto is searching for EVS volunteers to participate in the projects for 2013.

If you are interested in participating, please read carefully the descriptions below and send your application to a specific project.

Application period: August 16th – September 7th 2012

Results will be communicated by September 10th

Send us an e-mail to the following address: volontariato@legambienteveneto.it, with your motivation letter, your CV, your contacts and the contacts of your sending organization.

Motivation letter should be specific for the project!

In the subject of the e-mail please write the project code you find below.

You might be contacted via e-mail or telephone for a short interview to confirm your motivation for the project.

Attention! Applications with different subjects or outside of the application period will not be considered!

Location: Environmental Education Centre of Legambiente in Fontigo di Sernaglia della Battaglia (TV) – for more information check out the database EI: 2009-IT-194

Volunteers: 4

Dates: April – October 2013

Activities:

-Management of green areas and naturalistic paths, including both outdoor work for the upkeeping and restoration of these areas (mowing the grass, mending fences and wood bridges, controlling the signs and the watching stations and so on) as well as being involved in the promotion of such areas, organising guided visits, studying visit paths and making signals and rest areas for visitors;

– Organisation and development of environmental education activities with groups of children and adults;

– Promotion of voluntary service, both national and international, following the organisation, development, management and follow-up of workcamp projects;

Profile of Volunteers:

Sensitive towards the respect of the environment, inclined to physical work, sociable and open minded. Also interest in the environment and open to work with children, as well as doing work outside.
The project is located in a small town with small population, for this reason we require volunteers open to live in small communities, distant from big cities.

Location: Environmental Education Centre of Legambiente in Rugna di Lamon (BL)

Volunteers: 4

Dates: April – October 2013

Activities:

-Management of green areas and naturalistic paths, including both outdoor work for the upkeeping and restoration of these areas (mowing the grass, mending fences and wood bridges, controlling the signs and the watching stations and so on) as well as being involved in the promotion of such areas, organising guided visits, studying visit paths and making signals and rest areas for visitors;

Organisation and development of environmental education workshops open to the local population and in accordance with the local schools

Promotion of voluntary service, both national and international, following the organisation, development, management and follow-up of workcamp projects;

Creation of a botanical garden with medicinal plants

Profile of Volunteers:

Interest in botanics, environmental science, geology, agriculture, comunication

Previous local volunteering experience

Preferable experience as a camp leader

The project is located in a small town with small population, for this reason we require volunteers open to live in small communities, distant from big cities.

Location: Padova

Volunteers: 4

Duration: March – November 2013

Activities:

Volunteers will be engaged in promotion of sustainable life styles and information campaigns in cooperation with the local group of Legambiente in Padova.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to focus on one specific issue and follow campaigns for this issue (ie. Energy, Mobility, Agriculture, Garbage, etc.), developing short term activities, information (flyers, website, posters, etc.) and long term projects.

Profile of Volunteers:

Applicants should be interested in environmental issues, be motivated to propose ideas and to learn new activities, be able to work both independently as in group.
Volunteers should know Italian language or be motivated to learn it and work in Italian.

Location: Rovigo

Volunteers: 4

Duration: April – October 2013

Activities:

Volunteers will be engaged in activities aimed to support immigrants’ and home
less people integration in society. Specifically, the activities will be: helping in the medical office that attends people in difficulties, receiving hosts at the night hostel for homeless people, assisting Italian lessons for foreigners, supporting permanent hosting structures of the association, babysitting the children of immigrant women while they assist to training courses, and general support of sensibilisation campaigns against racism.

Profile of volunteers:

Volunteers should have hosting spirit, be open to help and encounter different cultures and people with different backgrounds, be open to listening and supporting people in difficulties and be available for different kinds of activities.
